Treasurer - Maxwell de Jong
Hey dear Ramenlappers,
My name is Maxwell, I'm 20 years old, and this year I'm proud to call myself the treasurer of the seventh board of G.S.P.V. de Ramenlappers. I'm currently in my second year of the Bachelor's program in International Business at Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, where I'd like to complete my propaedeutic year to transfer to university next year.
Although I hadn't joined any committees before my board year, I've become a familiar face within the club. Last year, I went with a small group to the Dutch Student Padel Championships in Rotterdam. Even though we were eliminated in the first round, I discovered my love for this club during that weekend. Many of you will probably also know me from the well-known trio of Willem, León, and I, as we do almost everything together within the club. And yes, "You have to rely on your housemates," as they say.
I was born and raised in Heerenveen. Despite my Frisian roots, I can barely speak a word of Frisian, but thankfully, I've been able to quickly leave that behind since moving to Groningen. I played soccer my entire childhood in Heerenveen, but since moving to Groningen, I've discovered a new hobby: padel. I enjoyed it so much that you can now find me at the padel courts almost every week. Although I'd stopped playing soccer, I picked it up again this year, this time indoors at Drs. Vijfje. There, I've joined the most infamous indoor soccer team in the Northern Netherlands: V10!
