Chairman - Hijmen Knottenbelt
My name is Hijmen Knottenbelt, I'm 22 years old, and this year I'm proud to be the chairman of our wonderful association!
In addition to my year on the board of the Ramenlappers, I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Marketing Analytics and Data Science at the University of Groningen. I also completed my Bachelor's degree here in Groningen, so you could say I've become quite settled in the city. I'm originally from Bilthoven, but Groningen has long felt like my second home.
This is already my fifth (!) year with the Ramenlappers, and during that time, I've gotten to know the association from almost every angle. For example, I've been a member of Toeco twice, participated in the Promocie for a year, and was responsible for organizing the OT (Executive Board Meeting). In short: I've spent a lot of time behind the scenes and now know pretty well how things work within the association.
I've also experienced my fair share of highs and lows on the sporting front. After being demoted no fewer than twice, things started to look bleak at times, but perseverance pays off! A personal highlight was becoming the Dutch Student Padel Champion last year! And for the skeptics: you can easily find it on MyKNLTB ;).
I'm really looking forward to getting to know you (even better) during practices, matches, drinks, and of course all the great events coming up. Feel free to talk to me, whether it's on the court or with a beer in hand (when that's allowed again). I'm really looking forward to making it a fantastic year together with you!
