External Affairs - Jesse Hielema
Hello, my name is Jesse Hielema.
I am 21 years old and I study Industrial Product Design at the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen. I grew up in the beautiful village of Annen, together with my dear sister Rosalie and my parents Peter and Monique. Ever since I was little, I have been practicing sports. During sports I can release my energy and clear my head completely. And if my mother is to be believed, I even get a little grumpy when I don't exercise.
Before I started playing padel, I participated in three other sports. My first sport was soccer. Here I often played in the back because of my speed and good interceptions. Whenever I won another duel or out-sprinted an opponent, I flourished. But my sports experience did not end here.
During my high school years, in fact, I became a total fan of basketball. Short sprints, passing to your teammate and finishing the attack with a nice lay-up or 3-pointer. I enjoyed it to the fullest.
After my basketball experience I joined Gyas and rowed for a year. I soon found out that my talent was more in the drinks than on the water. That is why I am still here from time to time!
Since last year, I finally joined the Ramenlappers. I was charmed by the beautiful game of padel and the nice atmosphere this club has around it. Therefore, I became an active member right away in my first year. Last year I was a member of the MerCie.
The MerCie was a nice addition to my experience as a designer and I could do my best here. But I did not leave my Ramenlappers career here.
From this year I take on the task of External Affairs. I am super looking forward to this! This year it will be my job to start great collaborations with other companies to make the association grow even more. I will also ensure that the ties with our current partners will be well maintained.
